We offer a free 15-minute initial consultation, not as a sales pitch, but as a pause. A chance for you to feel out the space, ask what you need, and notice how your body responds. No pressure. No need to convince me or yourself that you’re ready. We move at your pace.

sliding scale
We don’t believe care should be reserved for those with class privilege, generational wealth, or “acceptable” pain. We offer a limited number of sliding scale spots, not as charity, but as solidarity. These spots are here for those most impacted by colonization, capitalism, ableism, and other forces that make accessing care harder than it should ever be. You don’t need to disclose your trauma or justify your worth to access it. If it would make care more possible for you, we’ll talk about it openly, gently, and without hierarchy.
-
methods of payment
At the end of each session payment is accepted by credit card or e-transfer. If that is not possible, we explore a payment plan that ensures access to care. For credit card payments, you can securely store your card on file through the virtual platform that is used for sessions. For e-transfers, details will be provided after booking. Receipts are automatically emailed and include all the information you’ll need for insurance or personal records.
-
insurance coverage
If you have extended health benefits that cover Registered Social Workers, these services typically qualify. After each session, you’ll get a receipt for reimbursement. Insurance can be complicated and often imperfect, so please ensure that your specific plan covers Registered Social Workers.
-
cancellation policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide 24 hours’ notice. Cancellations with less notice or missed appointments are charged 50% of the appointment fee, as that time has been reserved for you. We understand life is unpredictable, and if there are barriers or emergencies, we’ll navigate those conversations with compassion.
-
the platform
All sessions happen virtually through the Jane App which is a secure, encrypted platform that respects your privacy. You don’t need to download anything; just click the link when it’s time. This keeps therapy accessible for those who struggle with in-person care, sensory overwhelm, or complex schedules. The virtual container is held with the same care and attention as any room.
-
what to expect from the first session
Your first session isn’t about performing or proving anything. It’s a container to slow down and arrive as you are, maybe uncertain, maybe raw, maybe guarded. We’ll talk about what brought you here, what feels important or hard, and how we can hold space for you. There’s no pressure to have answers or fix things. It’s a pause in a world that often demands so much from you.
-
how to know if this is a right fit
You don’t have to know right away. This is a deeply personal and relational choice. I’m someone who holds trauma with tenderness, challenges systems of power, and refuses to ask you to fit a mold. If you’re craving a space where your full humanity, including your contradictions, your rage, your hope, can live, this might be it. The free consult is a chance to listen to your own nervous system’s yes or no.
-
frequency of care
That depends on what you need and what you can hold. Many folks start weekly or every other week to build safety and momentum, then adjust as healing unfolds. There’s no one right rhythm. We’ll co-create a pace that respects your capacity, your life, and your nervous system.
-
what if I don’t know what I need or want to talk about?
That’s more than okay, it’s actually very common. You don’t have to come in with a neat agenda or rehearsed story. Sometimes the biggest shift happens when we sit with not knowing. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, whether that’s silence, overwhelm, anger, or confusion. Your presence itself is the start of the work.
-
how long will I be in therapy?
There’s no timeline here. Healing is not linear or neat. Some people come for a handful of sessions; others for years. We’ll check in together to see what feels helpful and what’s shifting. The power is always in your hands to decide what you need next.
-
what does it mean that your approach is trauma-informed?
It means understanding that harm lives in the body and nervous system, not just the mind. It means we hold space for your pacing, your safety, and your choices. Healing isn’t about forcing insight or change, it’s about making space for what you’ve had to survive, and slowly coming home to yourself.
-
what does unscripted therapy mean?
It means rejecting the idea that you have to be fixed or that healing follows a neat, predictable path. It means seeing your pain as a response to larger systems of oppression, like capitalism, colonialism, patriarchy, and ableism rather than a flaw inside you. Unscripted Therapy invites you to shed the roles and scripts you were told to play and step into who you really are, even if that’s messy, loud, or raw. There’s no performance here, no expectation to fit a mold. It’s about reclaiming your story, your body, and your truth on your own terms.
-
do you need a diagnosis to get therapy?
No. You don’t need a label, diagnosis, or formal paperwork to be seen here. Whether you suspect neurodivergence, live with a diagnosis, or reject labels altogether, you’re welcome. The work is about your experience, not a category.
-
do you work with children or couples?
Currently, we focus on individual work with adults (18+). and support parents from a trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming perspective. Couples or family therapy is not offered here, but we can connect you with trusted colleagues who share these values.
